Here is a few pictures of my new engraving-plotting machine.

It's almost ready and now i am making the first test of the driving system.

This is the second machine i made.

The first was biger and maded in a Techical School with the aid of the Students. For this machine we took the first prise in a school competition.

The second machine i describe, is smaller, (apout 200mmx300mm) but with the same filosophy: One side guidance and driving.

I prefer this method of guidance because of the simplisity, low cost and easy alighnment.

For driving system I am trying the direct driving from 1/4" shaft of the stepper motor with the aid of a steel guitar chord, since there is 6.35*πp=19,949 almost 20 mm. Perfect ratio for a small machine.

Until now the results are very good (precision and friction),and now I am trying to see the endurance of the steel chords (0.2 mm).

Have any beter idea for the material I should use?

All the construction are made from surplus i.e. componets which i had already, but i think the total cost of the mechaniks is low.

The electronics are maden from Hans Wed,s pcb, constructed and assempled by me.

Best regards
